Dexter Foxworth - Event Coordinator

Blending a background in the nonprofit sector and as a senior leader for some of the world’s most recognizable entertainment brands, Dexter has successfully led the direction and execution for special events, corporate events, private parties, media stunts, projects, spectaculars, theme parks, grand openings, entertainment operations and more for companies such as ABC Television, Cirque du Soleil and the Walt Disney Company. Dexter's role with Jefferson County is to steer the overall process from development through delivery for Jefferson County's signature event - the Jeffco Fair & Festival.

What is Dexter looking forward to most at this year's event? The diversity of our offerings and entertainment. There's just so much to do and take in.
 
Scott Gales - Fairgrounds Director

Scott Gales - Fairgrounds Director

I’m looking forward to again showcasing our Fairgrounds campus through the activities of 4-H, CSU Extension, the Westernaires and so many of the other fun elements Jeffco has to offer!" - Scott Gales

As the Fairgrounds Director, Scott is responsible for all management aspects of the 100-plus acre complex hosting more than 1200 events and 435,000 patrons annually. Scott previously held the title of Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Echo Mountain ski and snowboard area. He also spent over five years with Kroenke Sports and Entertainment in Denver where he directed venue, concert and special event marketing for Pepsi Center, the Paramount Theatre and 1STBANK Center. Prior to relocating to Colorado, Gales spent seven years directing sales, marketing and public relations at the Sioux Falls Arena and Orpheum Theatre in Sioux Falls, SD.

What Scott is looking forward to most at this year’s event? Meeting folks who are guests at the Fairgrounds for the first time.
 
Jacki Paone - CSU Extension Director

Jacki Paone - CSU Extension Director

“It is exciting to be part of this collaborative event that surrounds our 4-H youth with a community celebration.” - Jacki Paone

Jacki is the County Director for Colorado State University (CSU) Extension in Jefferson County. With a lengthy career as a leader and communicator, largely in the public education arena, Jacki has been the Leader for Operations and Administration at Faith Lutheran Church in Golden, the Executive Director of the Alliance for Quality Teaching in Denver and Executive Director of the Erie County (NY) Association of School Boards. She is accredited in Public Relations (APR), has a Masters in Communications from the University of New York at Buffalo and received her undergraduate degree from Nazareth College of Rochester (NY).

What is Jacki looking forward to most at this year's event? The event growing and responding to what our community wants and needs to celebrate!
 
Allison Scheck - Steering Committee Member

Allison Scheck - Steering Committee Member

"The Jeffco Fair & Festival provides a unique opportunity for the County's residents, businesses and organizations to come together and celebrate the diverse offerings we have to share in Jefferson County." - Allison Scheck

Allison is the Marketing and Community Relations Manager for the City of Lakewood and has spent most of her career managing entertainment and sports venues, including Dick's Sporting Goods Park and Paramount Theatre. Allison volunteers her time as a member of the board of directors for the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts as well as a committee member for The Children’s Museum's annual Birthday Bash. She is currently earning her Masters of Public Administration. She is mom to four and loves living, working, playing and shopping in Jeffco!

What is Allison looking forward to most at this year's event? This event is a great way to kiss goodbye to summer vacation and gear up for the new school year.

Annie Smiley - Steering Committee Member

“Every time I think about the Jeffco Fair and Festival and bringing together people from all across the county where they have a chance to learn new things, experience different attractions and enjoy all the West has to offer, I can’t help but think, “wow, I get to be a part of that!”” – Annie Smiley

Annie is a Midwest gal living and loving all Colorado has to offer! As the Marketing and Events Manager for the West Chamber, she has the opportunity to help businesses grow and thrive in Jeffco. She has a passion working with nonprofits and dedicates her time outside of work to volunteering with individuals with Down syndrome. Annie has worked in public relations for a nonprofit that benefited individuals with disabilities and as a program coordinator for Down Syndrome Indiana. A true community organizer at heart, Annie loves serving on the Jeffco Fair and Festival Steering Committee.

What is Annie looking forward to most at this year's event? Getting to dance at the Saloon!
 
Connie Malonson - Steering Committee Member

Connie Malonson - Steering Committee Member

“I’m excited for what the Jeffco Fair & Festival can bring to our community and am honored to be a part of it." - Connie Malonson

A Lakewood resident for over 47 years, Connie is proud of the City and County where she lives. Learning about the history of our community and getting involved in making a difference are a passion of hers and this event is the perfect venue to do both. Connie runs a volunteer program for her company and has had much experience in volunteering for and working with many non-profit organizations all over the State of Colorado. Connie's husband and two daughters also live, work and play in Jefferson County. Connie is excited to see the Jeffco Fair & Festival become an event that will be entertaining families and children for many, many years to come!

What is Connie looking forward to most at this year's event? Seeing all of the new events and offerings at the Jeffco Fair & Festival this year!
 
Glen Keller - Steering Committee Member

Glen Keller - Steering Committee Member

"The Jeffco Fair & Festival is a time to get together with folks from one end of the County to the other, to share in the accomplishments of our young people, to enjoy fun like a rodeo or other event, to see the art produced by our friends and neighbors, and, most of all, to appreciate what we are and from where we came." - Glen Keller

Glen and his wife have lived in Jefferson County since 1964, raised their kids here and have tried to put something back into the County. Together, they have operated the Westernaires since 1983 and been privileged to touch a lot of lives. Glen has served on the R-1 School Board, and been involved with Kiwanis, school committees and various county committees. Glen feels the Jeffco Fair & Festival is another opportunity to help leave Jefferson County a better place.

What is Glen looking forward to most at this year's event? Creating a great tradition.
 
Heather Taylor - Steering Committee Member

Heather Taylor - Steering Committee Member

"My wish is to create an event for every type of family to reconnect and enjoy each other, as well as the diversity that only our new Jeffco Fair & Festival will provide!” - Heather Taylor

Heather is an EH&S Technician for EHS Documents, Inc. and a Fit Test Technician for Respirator Mobile Fit. She has volunteered her time as a babysitting instructor for the American Red Cross, as President and Fundraising Coordinator of the Green Gables Elementary PTA and as a Clarinet player for local musical groups. Heather is currently the Coordinator for the Bear Creek High School Instrumental Music Program Holiday Craft Fair, and extremely involved in volunteering for her children’s many activities, including the Bear Creek High School Marching Band.

What is Heather looking forward to most at this year's event? Playing with my family at the Jeffco Fair & Festival.

Jeff Keller - Steering Committee Member

"I am truly honored to participate and contribute to the creation of the new Jeffco Fair and Festival while developing a culture that encourages a positive collaboration focused on our youth, agriculture and the Jefferson County community." - Jeff Keller

Jeff is a third generation owner of APC Construction Co., LLC; a heavy and highway construction company headquartered in Golden, CO. A Life-Member and former director of both the United States Team Penning Association (USTPA) and the Rocky Mountain Team Penning Association (RMTPA), Jeff is also a member of the National Western Stock Show Association, a Board Member and Officer of the Roundup Riders of the Rockies, an investor and former Chairman of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation.

What is Jeff looking forward to most at this year's event? A fun and entertaining rodeo and a total community festival and celebration.
 
Mark Skelton - Steering Committee Member

Mark Skelton - Steering Committee Member

"It's exciting to create a county celebration of our western heritage through a county event that supports all of our Jefferson County youth organizations." - Mark Skelton

Mark is a real estate broker with RE/MAX 100 Inc. He grew up in Jefferson County and has been active with Fairground's activities and events for nearly 50 years. A past member, parent and current instructor with the Westernaires, Mark has also served as a past member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse as well as member and past director of the Roundup Riders of the Rockies.

What is Mark looking forward to most at this year's event? 4-H, CSU Extension, rodeo, equine and agriculture activities.
