Annie Smiley - Steering Committee Member

“Every time I think about the Jeffco Fair & Festival and bringing together people from all across the county where they have a chance to learn new things, experience different attractions and enjoy all the West has to offer, I can’t help but think, “wow, I get to be a part of that!”” – Annie Smiley

Annie is a Midwest gal living and loving all Colorado has to offer! As the Marketing and Events Manager for the West Chamber, she has the opportunity to help businesses grow and thrive in Jeffco. She has a passion working with nonprofits and dedicates her time outside of work to volunteering with individuals with Down syndrome. Annie has worked in public relations for a nonprofit that benefited individuals with disabilities and as a program coordinator for Down Syndrome Indiana. A true community organizer at heart, Annie loves serving on the Jeffco Fair & Festival Steering Committee.

What is Annie looking forward to most at this year's event? Getting to dance at the Saloon!
Brittney deVall - Talent & Attractions Booking

Brittney deVall - Talent & Attractions Booking

"As a 6th generation Colorado native and as someone who has grown up in Jeffco, I love seeing my community come together for 3 days to celebrate Jeffco and all it has to offer." - Brittney deVall

Brittney is an experienced Event Coordinator for the Jeffco Fairgrounds with a demonstrated history of working in the government administration industry and the nonprofit sector. Before working at Jeffco Fairgrounds, Brittney worked at the Salvation Army in marketing and web development. Brittney graduated with Bachelor’s Degrees focused in Marketing & Finance from the University of Denver. She loves the wide variety of activities and opportunities that Colorado has to offer and looks forward to being a part of the 3rd annual Jeffco Fair & Festival.

What is Brittney most looking forward to at this year's event? I am looking forward to riding the ferris wheel while rockin' out to our fantastic entertainment line-up.
Dexter Foxworth - Director, Jeffco Events & Venues

Dexter Foxworth - Director, Jeffco Events & Venues

Blending a background in the nonprofit sector and as a senior leader for some of the world’s most recognizable entertainment brands, Dexter has successfully led the direction and execution for special events, corporate events, private parties, media stunts, projects, spectaculars, theme parks, grand openings, entertainment operations and more for companies such as ABC Television, Cirque du Soleil and the Walt Disney Company. Currently, Dexter is the Director for Events & Venues in Jefferson County, Colorado where he oversees a dynamic team that hosts and produces thousands of events annually.

What is Dexter looking forward to most at this year's event? The diversity of our offerings and entertainment. There's just so much to do and take in.
Erin Smith - Vendor Coordinator

Erin Smith - Vendor Coordinator

“I enjoy the opportunity to help collaborate on the Jeffco Fair & Festival, as it reminds me of the many days spent at the county fair growing up.” - Erin Smith

Erin is an Event Coordinator at the Jeffco Fairgrounds, as well as the Vendor Coordinator for the Jeffco Fair & Festival. Before Erin moved to Colorado from Indiana, she graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Park & Tourism Studies with a focus in Event Management. She has worked with Live Nation Entertainment as a special event coordinator and in merchandise management. Outside of work, she loves attending local events, live concerts and spending time with her best friends, two cats and German Shepard.

What is Erin looking forward to most at this year's event? I’m so incredibly excited for Artisan Village and to see what all the local artisan vendors have to offer!
Glen Keller - Steering Committee Member

Glen Keller - Steering Committee Member

"The Jeffco Fair & Festival is a time to get together with folks from one end of the County to the other, to share in the accomplishments of our young people, to enjoy fun like a rodeo or other event, to see the art produced by our friends and neighbors, and, most of all, to appreciate what we are and from where we came." - Glen Keller

Glen and his wife have lived in Jefferson County since 1964, raised their kids here and have tried to put something back into the County. Together, they have operated the Westernaires since 1983 and been privileged to touch a lot of lives. Glen has served on the R-1 School Board, and been involved with Kiwanis, school committees and various county committees. Glen feels the Jeffco Fair & Festival is another opportunity to help leave Jefferson County a better place.

What is Glen looking forward to most at this year's event? Creating a great tradition.
Jacki Paone - Director, CSU Extension

Jacki Paone - Director, CSU Extension

“It is exciting to be part of this collaborative event that surrounds our 4-H youth with a community celebration.” - Jacki Paone

Jacki is the County Director for Colorado State University (CSU) Extension in Jefferson County. With a lengthy career as a leader and communicator, largely in the public education arena, Jacki has been the Leader for Operations and Administration at Faith Lutheran Church in Golden, the Executive Director of the Alliance for Quality Teaching in Denver and Executive Director of the Erie County (NY) Association of School Boards. She is accredited in Public Relations (APR), has a Masters in Communications from the University of New York at Buffalo and received her undergraduate degree from Nazareth College of Rochester (NY).

What is Jacki looking forward to most at this year's event? The event growing and responding to what our community wants and needs to celebrate!
Jeff Keller - Steering Committee Member

Jeff Keller - Steering Committee Member

"I am truly honored to participate and contribute to the creation of the new Jeffco Fair and Festival while developing a culture that encourages a positive collaboration focused on our youth, agriculture and the Jefferson County community." - Jeff Keller

Jeff is a third generation owner of APC Construction Co., LLC; a heavy and highway construction company headquartered in Golden, CO. A Life-Member and former director of both the United States Team Penning Association (USTPA) and the Rocky Mountain Team Penning Association (RMTPA), Jeff is also a member of the National Western Stock Show Association, a Board Member and Officer of the Roundup Riders of the Rockies, an investor and former Chairman of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation.

What is Jeff looking forward to most at this year's event? A fun and entertaining rodeo and a total community festival and celebration.
Jeremy Fleming - Steering Committee Member

Jeremy Fleming - Steering Committee Member

Jeremy is proud to be a Jeffco native and lifelong Lakewood resident. Prior to joining Jefferson County’s Public Affairs team in 2016, he was the Marketing Director for the West Metro Chamber of Commerce, where he made many connections in the community. He has a background in website design, social media, email marketing and promoting events, such as 'Taste of the West' and 'Celebrate Women of Jefferson County.' He currently serves on the Steering Committee for Leadership Jefferson County and is the Chair of the County Day portion of the program. When not working, Jeremy enjoys hiking and mountain biking at Jeffco Open Space parks.

What is Jeremy most looking forward to at this year’s event? I’m excited about the diverse entertainment lineup and the addition of a carnival for the kids to enjoy
Kirstin Brown - Volunteer Coordinator

Kirstin Brown - Volunteer Coordinator

"As a mother of two, living in Jeffco, I love seeing a family-friendly event bring my community together to celebrate Jefferson County and its residents." - Kirstin Brown

Kirstin, a resident of Jeffco, brings her customer service experience to the Jeffco Fairgrounds where she is an Administrative Assistant as well as Volunteer Coordinator for the Jeffco Fair & Festival. She is certified in Volunteer Management by Metro Volunteers and Points of Light Foundation and is an inaugural member of the Collaborative Planning Committee for the Volunteer Leadership Training Academy Program for Colorado State and County Fairs. This is Kirstin’s 3rd Jeffco Fair & Festival and she cannot wait to Celebrate with you!

What is Kirstin most looking forward to at this year's event? I am most looking forward to watching my children enjoy all the fun at the carnival.
Lisa Stavig - Steering Committee Member

Lisa Stavig - Steering Committee Member

"As a 4-H alumni from Colorado, I enjoy seeing the 4-H kids showcase their work and all the amazing things that the Jeffco Fair & Festival is offering to our community.” Lisa Stavig

Lisa is involved in the Jeffco 4-H program as a leader, parent and the 4-H Mentor Coordinator for Jefferson County. As a committee member for the open class competition, Lisa also helps ensure that adults of all ages have a place to showcase their talents at the Jeffci Fair & Festival. Lisa has two kids in the Jeffco Public Schools, has served on the District Accountability Chair for the Green Mountain Articulation Area, School Accountability Chair for Hutchinson Elementary for 2 years and has been a PTO officer in various positions over the past 9 years.

What is Lisa looking forward to most at this year's event? Riding the carnival rides!
Mark Skelton - Steering Committee Member

Mark Skelton - Steering Committee Member

"It's exciting to create a county celebration of our western heritage through a county event that supports all of our Jefferson County youth organizations." - Mark Skelton

Mark is a real estate broker with RE/MAX 100 Inc. He grew up in Jefferson County and has been active with Fairground's activities and events for nearly 50 years. A past member, parent and current instructor with the Westernaires, Mark has also served as a past member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse as well as member and past director of the Roundup Riders of the Rockies.

What is Mark looking forward to most at this year's event? 4-H, CSU Extension, rodeo, equine and agriculture activities.

Mindy Nelon - Steering Committee Member

"I'm incredibly proud to be part of an event that brings so much fun and happiness to our community. The Jeffco Fair & Festival has grown and become more innovative over the years, and it's exciting to be part of the process of bringing it to life." - Mindy Nelon

It's been Mindy's pleasure to cover Jefferson County for more than 4 years as a marketing consultant for Colorado Community Media Newspapers. She has worked in the media business for more than 8 years, and enjoys working with local businesses, non-profits and event planners every day to help inform the community about all the resources available to residents. Born in northeast Texas, she's been a Colorado resident for 8 years. She and her husband love music, going to the movies and taking care of their two dogs.

What is Mindy looking forward to most at this year’s event? I can't wait to see the Artisan Village, local vendors and their creations, and maybe even do a little shopping!
